Dear Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis Parishioners and Families,

I write to inform you that Msgr. Mikesch has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. When he began experiencing some minor cold-like symptoms earlier this week, Msgr. Mikesch checked in with his doctor and, as a precaution, they tested him for the COVID virus.  His results came back this morning with a positive result for the virus.  

Myself, the other priests (including Msgr. Mikesch), and parish staff have all been vaccinated.  Msgr. Mikesch has been prescribed anitibiotics and is already showing signs of a quick recovery. In addition, he will be quarantining himself at the Vision of Peace Hermitages in Pevely beginning today, and the appropriate authorities have been notified per City directives.

Please know that I will communicate to you any additional updates regarding this situation as new information becomes available. 

Please keep Msgr. Mikesch and our entire community in your prayers as we continue through this challenging time.
